POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Family Advancement and Homeownership Coordinator

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Permanent/Full-time

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

SALARY: $45,000 - $55,000 annual salary

Position Summary

The Family Advancement and Homeownership Coordinator is dedicated to supporting participants in the Family Self-Sufficiency Program and Expanding Homeownership Opportunities Program. This role partners with families to achieve stability and growth through comprehensive case management, counseling, and program coordination. Emphasizing a collaborative, empathetic approach, the Coordinator supports families on their journey's of personal development and housing stability. 

Essential Functions

Program Development and Client Support:

· Create and monitor personal self-sufficiency plans that are clear, achievable, and compassionate.

· Ensure goals in Program Contracts and Individual Training and Service Plans are met.

· Provide ongoing, supportive counseling and case management for participants.

· Serve as the primary point of contact for homeownership inquiries, offering a friendly and informative experience.

· Assist prospects in understanding and accessing homeownership programs.

· Provide initial appointments, develop actionable plans, and guide interested families towards becoming mortgage-ready.

· Facilitate pre-purchase education and counseling to prepare partner families for homeownership.

Collaboration and Coordination:

· Oversite and Support to the Program Coordinating Committee.

· Maintaina referral and networking system to connect families with essential resources.

· Follow up with service providers and family partners to ensure needs are met.

· Actively recruit families for programs and ensure full participation.

· Maintain regular, open communication with family partners through various methods.

· Organize and coordinate program workshops and activities that promote family growth.

· Provide informative and welcoming program orientations to interested applicants.

Administrative and Team Responsibilities:

· Complete well-organized case files reflecting services provided and outcomes.

· Prepare paperwork, monthly reports, and case notes accurately and timely.

· Track escrow account deposits and disbursements.

· Publish engaging marketing materials to promote program participation.

· Maintain an up-to-date database for program statistics and correspondence.

· Utilize agency CRM tools and Database to maintain accurate records.

Program Coordinating Committee (PCC):

· Establish and maintain the PCC as required by federal regulations to oversee the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program.

· Coordinate regular PCC meetings, including preparing agendas, materials, and meeting minutes.

· Collaborate with PCC members, including representatives from local service providers, community organizations, and other stakeholders, to ensure comprehensive service delivery.

· Facilitate communication between the PCC and program participants to address needs and improve program outcomes.

· Develop and implement strategies based on PCC feedback to enhance program effectiveness and participant support.

· Knowledge of HUD rules and regulations and Public Housing Agency policies and procedures.

Preferred Education and Experience

· Associate's degree; Bachelor's preference, in social work, sociology, or related field.

· At least two years of experience in customer service, social work, counseling, or a related field.

· Bilingual speaker and writer in English and Spanish preferred.

· Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Special Requirements

· FSS & Homeownership Certifications within one year of employment.

· Must possess a valid State Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

· Successful completion of a criminal history background check, education and work history verification.

· Internal and external applicants may be requested to take and pass drug screening.
